
Terms & Conditions
Auditions for selecting participants in the Series "Dance Naija Dance 2023" (the “Contest”) is being organised by Zee TV South Africa (Pty) Ltd (the “Organiser”). The Contest takes on the form of a television series (“Series”).
By registering for the Contest, the Applicant hereby agrees to be bound to the following terms and conditions:
- AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
1.1 The Applicant must be 18 years and older to enter. The Applicant shall submit a valid proof of age and nationality (ID or Passport Copy) as may be required by the Organiser during the auditions.
1.2 All entries must include the state in Nigeria the Participants will be representing
1.3 The entries are group-based and will only be considered if the entry contains 3 or 4 participants.
1.4 Notwithstanding the group-based nature of the Contest, each applicant will enter the Contest on its own and sign and abide by these terms and conditions.
1.5 The Contest is open to dance groups from all 36 states in Nigeria providing that they legally reside in Nigeria and have the necessary documentation. The Organiser will not be held liable for any costs incurred. Proof of visas and/or work permit must be provided.
1.6 Entry for auditions will be open from 1 April to 21 April 2023. Entry beyond the closing date will not be considered.
1.7 The dance groups who wish to enter must send the Organiser a one minute-long WhatsApp dance video to: +234 809 046 0005 / +234 809 046 0006. Crews will be shortlisted based on these performances. The shortlisting will take place in accordance with the Contest dancing assessment criteria.
1.8 The audition entry does not guarantee the selection or participation of the Applicant in the audition and such selection shall be as per sole discretion of Organiser. The Applicant cannot dispute the selections made by the Organiser and waives any right to question the selection process and non-selection of the Applicant(s) and/or the selection of any other applicant(s).
1.9 The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify and/or exclude, at its sole and absolute discretion, the Participant from any audition in accordance with the Contest dancing assessment criteria.
1.10 In the event of multiple registrations made by the Applicant, the first complete registration shall be considered by the Organiser.
1.11 The Organiser reserves the right to change the date and time of the Auditions at its discretion.
1.12 Upon selection to participate in the Contest, the Applicant shall as a requisite be obliged to enter into a Participant Agreement with the Organiser or its duly appointed agent.
- OPERATIONAL RULES:
2.1 The judges’ decision(s) in the Contest (including the audition) are final.
2.2 The decisions of the Organiser during the audition and Contest shall be final and binding on the Applicant. No disputes or appeals regarding any decisions by the Organiser or rights of the Applicant will be considered at any point of time.
2.3 The total (Cash & Non-Cash) prize are worth NGN 5 000 000 (Five Million Naira), which will be awarded as follows: The 1st winning group will receive (Cash & Non-Cash prize) worth NGN 2 500 000 (Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira), 2nd winning group will receive (Cash & Non-Cash prize) worth NGN 1 500 000 (One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira) and the remaining (Cash & Non-Cash prize) worth NGN 1 000 000 (One Million Naira) will be awarded to the wining individual dancer. Prize money may be subject to tax. Other non-cash prizes will also be provided by the Organiser. All prizes (Cash & Non-Cash) will only be given after the series has finished airing.
2.4 The Applicant is to submit a certified copy of his/her ID to the Organiser before filming begins. On the days of filming the Applicant is to present his/her ID to the Organiser which will be verified according to the certified version sent earlier. In the event that the Applicant has produced any fraudulent copies of his/her ID to the Organiser, he/she will be eliminated immediately from the Contest. Should his/her fraudulent conduct lead to any loss or damages incurred by the Organiser, he/she will be liable for such loss or damages. Applicants may be subjected to a background check.
2.5 All music will be supplied by the Organiser beforehand. Only the music supplied on the list may be used. Any music which is not on the list, will not be used.
2.6 The Organiser shall have the sole right at its own discretion to choose the videos of the auditions, subject to the clearance of the music rights involved, and reserves the right to publicly broadcast and disseminate the auditions in any other manner as part of the Series and its publicity campaigns.
2.7 The audition, Contest and/or the Series may be discontinued or terminated by the Organiser at any time solely at its own discretion and without any obligation to provide reasons. The Organiser shall not be liable to the Participant on any basis for the cancellation, discontinuation and/or postponement of the audition, Contest or the Series.
2.8 The Organiser reserves the right at its sole discretion to modify the rules and/or the terms and conditions from time to time without any prior/public notice by posting the applicable terms and conditions on its website or otherwise.
2.9 All COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to during the entire course of production (both on and off set) by all cast and crew of the production. The Organiser will not be held liable for any loss or damages.
- THE APPLICANT’S OBLIGATIONS:
3.1 The Applicant shall follow all directions/rules and regulations issued by the Organisers in connection with the auditions.
3.2 The Applicant shall conduct himself/herself honestly in all respects during the audition process. Participation shall be rejected, if it is found that the Applicant has provided incorrect or false information to the Organiser and if the Applicant acts in any manner that is prejudicial or embarrassing to the Organiser and/or the Contest.
3.3 The Applicant undertakes to provide and/or execute any documents as may be deemed necessary by the Organiser to effectively carry out his/her obligations under the Contest for the Series and/or under these terms and conditions.
3.4 The Applicant that is chosen for the series will need to have a proof of vaccination with additional boosters (double vaccinated), as well as a negative result no later than 48 hours before arrival to the production (at the Applicant’s own expense). Any Applicants failed to adhere to COVID-19 protocols will be subjected for disqualification and will be liable for any loss or damages incurred by the Organiser.
3.5 The Applicant shall under no circumstances divulge any information about the audition, the Contest and the Series, including but not limited to the participants eliminated from the competition, the winners of the competition to any third parties and/or on any social media platforms during the entire production of the series and during the airing of the series until the entire series have finished airing. Failure to do so will result in the Applicant being held liable for costs/losses/damages incurred by the Organiser.
3.6 The Applicant must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as per point 3.5. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
3.7 The Applicant should not be bound by any contract, arrangement or brands which may prohibit him/her from entering into a management contract, recording contract and/or merchandising contract or performance contract with the Organizer. The Applicant understands that this provision does not create any expectations that the Applicant will qualify for such contracts.
3.8 The Applicant will have no relationship or connection with the Organiser, its parent company or any of the Zee Entertainment Group of Companies.
- FEES AND COSTS:
4.1 The Applicant understands that he/she shall not be entitled to any remuneration, fee, reimbursements of cost or any payments of whatsoever for the work performed and contributions in any form during the audition and Contest and for the production and distribution of the Series.
4.2 For the purpose of application and participation in the Contest, all expenses, if any, incurred during the audition process, including but not limited to sending Whatsapp-entries / uploading Hi-Res Audition footages shall be borne by the Applicant.
4.3 Once the Applicant have been chosen for the series, all transport, accommodation and meals during the course of the production will be provided by the Organiser.
4.4 The Applicant shall travel at their own risk and shall take out appropriate medical insurance at their own cost.
- OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS:
5.1 The Applicant agrees, confirms and warrants that he/she shall have no right, title, interest or other claim whatsoever over his/her contributions/performance/work/photos/footages submitted or created during the audition and the copyright and all other rights thereof shall vest with the Organiser in perpetuity for the entire world.
5.2 The Organiser will have the right to use personal and public photographs, cut-outs, information pertaining to the Applicant, shoot and use of any footages, reality bytes of the Applicant, his/her friends and family members, subject to permission obtained from his/her friends and family members for the use of their contributions.
5.3 All Audition videos and footages of the Participant is the property of the Organiser.
- LIABILITY:
6.1 The Applicant shall participate voluntarily and at his/her own risk and will have no claim against the Organisers on any basis whatsoever in relation to the Contest and/or the Series. The Organiser shall not be liable for any prejudice, damage, loss, theft or any form of physical or mental harm or injury or death caused to the Applicant and the Applicant hereby indemnifies the Organiser from claims bases thereon.
6.2 The Organiser shall under no circumstances be responsible for the non-fulfilment of commitments/ obligations of any third party.
6.3 The Organiser will not be responsible for any comments made by any and all users and commentators on any social media platforms or regular media.
- GENERAL
7.1 The headings in the terms and conditions are for ease of reference only and shall have no bearing on the interpretation hereof.
By registering/entering for the Contest, the Applicant hereby agrees to have read the Terms and Conditions mentioned herein above and understand the contents and implications thereof. Accordingly, The applicant agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions as prerequisite for the application to participate in the Contest.
